The Clark Rubber logo and branding colour is known for its bold mix of primary colours.
Sign and Fitouts were engaged by Clark Rubber in Heidelberg West to create a Custom 3D Shop Front Sign for their Heidelberg West based shop in a busy shopping centre.
As always, when dealing with an established brand, colour matching the original palette to either vinyl colour charts or paint colours can prove to be a challenge. We used the Pantone Matching System (PMS) to recreate the original colours as closely as possible. The final product consisted of various layers of acrylic panels painted different colours and coloured vinyl layered onto one another.
The most challenging part was the solid white aluminium panel cladding on the exterior. We were not able to spray paint inside the shopping centre, nor use a roller painter to change the colour of the aluminium. Our only option was to demolish all of the white cladding and redo it in yellow.

South Yarra-based business “Angela Jewellery” wanted a 3D Metal Sign that conveyed the elegant and tasteful nature of their business.
Our talented Sign and Fitouts designers suggested Steel letters raised from the surface of the wall exterior through the use of long pins. This method ensures that the Metal Letters are safely secured to the wall, whilst also protruding out to add dimension.
The final product, featuring 3D Steel Letters, exudes a sophisticated and understated appeal. We were proud to help Design, manufacture and Install this custom 3D Metal Sign for this thriving business. Installation of letters with pins is a creative and unique way to present a more toned-down, unobtrusive yet equally impressive image.

ExpoNet specialize in exhibitions and event organisation; they approached Sign and Fitouts wanting an arresting 3D Illuminated Sign that would help Tetra Pack, a well-known packaging company, stand out in a busy exhibition centre.
Illuminated 3D Signs can be made in a variety of sizes; smaller sized illuminated signs are the perfect option for Exhibition Stands or reception desks. To achieve this effect, we used thick opal acrylic. Opal acrylic is a thermosetting plastic that, due to its opaque nature, allows light to pass through, making it the perfect material for Light Boxes and illuminated displays. The opal acrylic was grooved in the back and filled with small LED Lights. The final result was a polished design that exudes a soft light, attracting passers-by.

Audio Hearing, a leading audiology practise, requested a modern, neat Custom Sign for the exterior of their Doncaster branch.
To achieve this look, we opted for a sign with push through letters. These remarkable 3D Signs can be made in any size. For Audio Hearing, our Heidelberg West based, skilled workshop staff built a 5m long sign printed with their brand colour. Then, using a CNC Router, we cut individual 3D Letters from acrylic. Each letter was grooved in the back to allow for insertion of LED lights. Finally, the grooved, shining 3D letters were pushed through the sign to create a striking Illuminated, 3D effect.

The Melbourne branch of “Eleven by Venus” approached Sign and Fitouts to create a fun and modern sign for their store.
The vibrantly coloured brand wanted an Innovative 3D Sign that would convey the exciting nature of their brand. Foamex is a material composed of expanded polystyrene; it’s lightweight nature makes it ideal for surfaces that cannot withstand heavy signs. For Venus’ store, we opted for bright, white Foamex 3D Letters, to contrast the vividly coloured wall. The impressive weight to strength ratio of Foamex ensured for a smooth installation.

The Peaky Blinders Barbershop in St. Kilda came to Sign and Fitouts seeking a Custom 3D Illuminated Shop Sign that would create an inviting, comfortable environment for their clientele. We decided on a backlit Illuminated 3D Sign that would capture the inimitable spirit of the shop’s namesake.
For this project, we used PVC Foamex, a versatile, rigid material that is easy to cut and shape. We grooved interconnected channels in the back of the sign, where we placed LED lights. Then, we mounted a CNC cut 6 mm black acrylic sign on top of the Foamex. This created a backlit ‘halo’ effect that exudes a gentle warmth.

Sign and Fitouts were approached by Hope Street Youth Centre to create this challenging and artistic design for their Melton Centre; a tree recognising the community service centre’s donors.
To achieve this, we first used our CNC router to cut a medium-density fibreboard (MDF) panel to the desired shape. Next, using the CNC router, each leaf was engraved with the name of an individual donor or business that has supported the Centre’s worthwhile cause. This was a creative and imaginative way for the Centre to show their appreciation and gratitude to their supporters. Lastly, the sides of each leaf were painted in the Centre’s signature cool blue colour.
For this project, choosing the right material was key to achieving the finished look. MDF is an engineered wood material that adds a touch of authenticity to this innovative 3D Sign.

The Smile Team, a leading dental practise based in Balwyn North, enlisted the services of Sign and Fitouts to create a striking, modern 3D Sign for their clinic.
Upon consultation, we agreed on a backlit 3D Illuminated Sign crafted out of acrylic. To achieve this effect, we used a large piece of opal acrylic to cut and groove the letters. Next, we placed warm white LED strip lights inside the letters. Finally, we overlaid the front of the 3D Letters with another piece of large, black acrylic painted in dark blue branding colour. The final effect exuded a diffuse light that created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for The Smile Team’s clientele.
This job proved to be a challenging one. We didn’t have access to the back of the tiles in the reception area, which is usually necessary to connect the wiring in the back. So the template for drilling the holes had to be very accurate. We perfected the design and set to work! The smallest mistake would have necessitated demolishing the reception wall.

Sign and Fitouts received an order requesting a custom sign featuring push through letters for iconic Aussie brand Virgin Australia.
In instances when a client requires us to produce a sign from an existing logo, matching the colour of the sign to the original brand colour is a crucial part of the process. First, we used a computer-controlled cutting machine called a CNC router to cut the letters and groove the aluminium composite panel. The CNC router is an important tool for fabricating extremely accurate designs and letters from a wide range of materials. Then, we wrapped the panel with printed, laminated vinyl coloured in the vibrant Virgin red. Finally, the opal acrylic 3D letters were pushed through to create a protrusive effect that adds depth and dimension.

Shiners Carwash came to Sign and Fitouts seeking restoration for their renowned 3D illuminated Sign. The much-loved bold blue letters had lost their shine over the years.
Initially, Shiners sought our opinion on whether brand new Signage was the best way forward. Wanting the most cost-effective solution for our client, we conducted a thorough inspection of the original sign to determine whether refurbishment was an option. Despite 20 years of wear and tear, the old sign still had potential. We presented both options to our client; refurbishing the existing sign was a far more economical option than creating brand new signage.
We pulled the 3D Letters down and brought them back to life in our Heidelberg West workshop. After a coat of paint, some retouching and a brand-new set of LED lights and bases, Shiners is once again a beacon in Melbourne.
